Seed Pilates is Raglan's only comprehensive Pilates studio offering; Reformer, Mat, Ladder Barrel, Combination Chair, Spine Corrector and Trapeze Table Pilates.

 

We offer a boutique experience with the option of private 1:1 or 2:1 sessions, pre/post-natal, rehab classes and group Reformer, mat and fitness classes. 

At Seed Pilates we are committed to providing a quality movement experience every time you set foot in the studio. We are passionate about delivering effective, focussed and fun Pilates classes that meet your own personal goals and leave you feeling both inspired and challenged.

Our exclusively private studio, tucked away from the bustle of the Raglan town centre offers the perfect setting in which to flourish in your Pilates practice.

COVID-19 UPDATE

We are thirlled to welcome all clients back to the studio in accordance with the lifting of the  COVID-19 Protection Framework mandate (requiring use of vaccine passes).

Our Process

All new clients are required to complete a complimentary Fitness Screening and Consult prior to getting started with Seed Pilates.

During this time we discuss any current/recurring health concerns or injuries that may affect your time in the studio, as well as your own personal goals. This is followed by a fitness screening assessment. 

 

New clients are also required to complete at least one, private 1:1 Reformer session prior to joining a group class. These 1:1 sessions are beneficial in ensuring you understand basic Pilates principles and correct apparatus safety and set up before joining a group class.

Sara

Lisa is a qualified Polestar Pilates Comprehensive Instructor, Group Fitness Instructor & Anatomy & Physiology graduate with more than 14 years experience in the health and fitness industry.

Excited to bring Reformer Pilates to Raglan,

she and her husband Jono opened Seed Pilates in June 2018.

Lisa is committed to helping her clients move well, understanding their bodies and creating healthy habits to ensure they can continue to do the things they love; be that running trails, catching waves or keeping up with the kids.

She is a firm believer of movement as medicine and believes Pilates offers something for everyone with significant benefits to both our physical and mental wellbeing.

Lisa is a busy, mother-of-two and especially enjoys helping clients take the first step on their Pilates journey.

Growing up in Raglan, Kate has a natural interest in the outdoors. She brings to the studio a wealth of knowledge with a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science and a Post-graduate Diploma in Clinical Exercise Physiology & Advanced Rehabilitation.

Fascinated by the body and movement, Kate is also firm believer in using exercise as medicine, with a passion for helping people restore and move their bodies with ease.

 

Kate teaches both our Group Reformer and Fitness classes as well as working with private clients in both a Pilates and exercise rehabilitation capacity.

Her classes are always thoughtfully constructed to get the very best from her clients and her technical direction and understanding of the body ensures her classes are always of the highest standard. 

Kate is currently completing her Ultimate Reformer qualification.

Sara is a qualified mat Pilates,Yoga Instructor and Meditation coach and holds certificates in Anatomy, Therapy and Biomechanics.

An ex-professional volleyball player

representing Italy, Sara's experience

has taken her all over the world and

her classes offer a well-rounded workout, encompassing breath work, core control, strength, alignment and a strong focus

on correct technique and form.

She has a smile that lights up the room and

her enthusiasm is infectious. Sara's attention

to form and movement efficiency is meticulous with clients often leaving her classes commenting on feeling muscles they 'never knew they had'.

Sara heads all our Group Mat classes here at Seed.

Jamie

Katie

Jamie is a certified Polestar Pilates Comprehensive Instructor who has been teaching for the past two years. Prior to joining the Seed team in 2022, Jamie was part of the wonderful team at Hoi Studio in Wellington. 

 

Jamie's background is in teaching Yoga and Surfing. He discovered Pilates after a severe injury forced him to explore alternative movement methods for rehabilitation. Quickly he realised movement was medicine and a love for Pilates was born. 

 

Jamie is extremely passionate about helping others explore movement-based rehabilitation. In his own words, "I personally love Pilates because it has taught me how to move my body safely in ways I never thought I would be capable of".

 

As well as working with 1:1 clients, Jamie facilitates fun and engaging group classes for clients of all ability levels and he is excited to be working alongside our Seed community and getting to know you all.

Katie is the face behind Whole Health, a Physiotherapy, Nutrition and Womens Health clinic based out of Seed Pilates. 

Katie's skill set and industry experience is impressive, she is also a qualified Pilates and Therapeutic Yoga Instructor with more than 10 years experience. 

Katie believes in a holistic approach to health and wellbeing and she is particularly passionate about supporting women during their pre and post natal periods.

As a busy mum of three, Katie still finds the time to keep up to date with industry research and she is a firm believer in providing evidence-based treatments for her clients. 

The Whole Health clinic is currently closed while Katie is on maternity leave, however you may be lucky enough to catch her on the studio floor teaching a Pilates class from time-to-time.

The Physio Room

We are proud to be working closely with the exceptional team at The Physio Room, Raglan. 

Physiotherapists Carol Taylor and Otto Hofmann are based at their Seed Pilates clinic room Monday - Thursday. 

The Physio Room team believe in treating the whole body rather than injury or medical issues in isolation. They offer an extensive range of services to help improve movement and function to suit each individual's needs and personal goals.

The Physio Room offers ACC-funded treatment, Acupuncture and private Pilates-based rehabilitation sessions.

FAQ's

How long does the fitness screening take? 

It is best to allow 30-40 minutes for your consult and screening and we advise wearing comfortable clothing you can move about in freely.

Are children allowed in the studio?

Babies are welcome at our Post-natal Reformer & mat classes and children at our Mums 'n Bubs group fitness classes only. 

What should I bring to the studio?

Just yourself, we have everything you need here.

I can no longer attend my scheduled class, what should I do?

Please contact us via email | seedpilates@gmail.com as soon as possible. We operate a 24-hour cancelation policy, where by failure to attend without prior notice or 'no shows' will be charged a full class fee. This is enforced at the instructor's discretion. 

How long are group classes and is there a minimum class number?

All group classes are 50-minutes long and we require a minimum of two clients to run a Group Reformer class & a minimum of three to run Group Fitness & Mat classes.
